It was in 1976, in the middle of the watch making crisis, when Mario Boiocchi created the Paul Picot brand, named after an 18th century pioneer in timekeeping. It was established in Noirmont, at the heart of the ‘Jurassian Arc’. A distributor of haute horologer brands in his native Italy, Boiocchi was convinced, unlike others who feared the ascending quartz wave flooding the watch industry, which the future belonged to Swiss traditional mechanical timekeeping.
